Jolt and CoCo:
Large-Scale Muralists

We are Jolt and CoCo, the husband-and-wife artists behind Guerilla Garden. As multigenerational Colorado natives, our work is shaped by the communities that raised us, the murals and graffiti we grew up around and a shared belief that public art should feel connected to the people and history of a place. Our roots are in Denver, but our work has taken us to walls and communities across the country.

Jolt began working with aerosol in 1993 and brings more than 30 years of experience in lettering, portraiture and large-scale mural production. CoCo brings a strong eye for design, color and composition, along with experience in community engagement and project coordination. We approach the work from different strengths, but every project is developed together.

Over the years, we have created everything from interior murals and immersive stairwells to textured exterior façades, eight-story installations and murals covering thousands of square feet. We understand the creative and technical demands of large public projects, including lifts, scaffolding, active sites, durable materials and long-term protection.

Even at the largest scale, our process remains personal. We listen, research and spend time understanding the location before developing a design. When a project includes community participation, we create ways for residents, youth and stakeholders to contribute meaningfully to the finished work.

We still get excited about what a blank wall can become. Whether we are working with a municipality, school, nonprofit, developer or private organization, our goal is to create artwork that belongs to its surroundings, carries meaning and remains powerful over time.
